Your battery is charged when the petrol engine is in use. Energy from braking and costing also goes back into the battery.

What's the difference between a plug-in hybrid and a hybrid car?
Both combine a combustion engine and electric motor, but a non-plug-in hybrid can only charge the battery from the engine or motion of the car and braking.

What happens if my battery runs low?
Switch to Save Battery mode and carry on your journey using the petrol engine. Simply plug back in when you get home.
